Peaceful protest against SW gas leases - Bunbury

sw-rally.jpgEvent: Sunday 5 November 2017

A gas exploration lease has just been approved over Bunbury, Stratham, Boyanup, Dardanup, Capel, Peppermint Beach and Donnybrook.

Let the state government know that we don't want gasfields in South West WA.

Meet at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Center carpark at 2pm. We will walk about 500m to another location.

Wear yellow & black or a costume. Bring signs. Musicians wanted- to play and lead singing.

Download PDF of A5 flyer to print or email. Print double-sided in colour or b&w, then cut in half to make two flyers.

Bunbury_Energy_lease.jpgYou have probably heard by now that the State government has approved a new gas lease covering the shires of Dardanup, Capel and Donnybook-Balingup and parts of the cities of Bunbury and Busselton.

We are worried that this gas lease could result in the industrialisation of our precious South West agricultural, natural and tourism areas.

Fortunately for us the State Government is coming to Bunbury this Sunday for a regional Cabinet meeting so we have a unique chance to take our message directly to the Premier and his Ministers.

Please will you join us as we take a peaceful message to the Premier Mark McGowan. We want the Premier and his Cabinet to know that the South West would like to remain Gasfield Free.

Our land, our water and our health are more important than a short-term risky and unwanted gas mining industry that could contaminate our food bowls and pollute our air and water.

We will be meeting this Sunday November 5 in the carpark of the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre at 2 Blair Street at 2pm and marching to the 3pm public meeting at the Koombana Sailing Club with banners and costumes.
