Origin action Perth

Origin Energy’s plans to frack WA’s Kimberley, the Northern Territory and Queensland would be a disaster for the landscape, communities and waterways in Northern Australia.
That’s why in the lead up to Origin’s AGM we are going to send a clear message of NO fracking in the Kimberley out the front of Buru Energy’s office!
Origin Energy has ignored the concerns of Traditional Owners across Australia and failed to tell communities about the risks involved with fracking.
Origin is among numerous companies wanting to frack the Kimberley. Alongside joint venture partner Buru Energy, Origin are planning to frack over 20,000 sq km of land in the Kimberley - creating networks of gas wells and pipelines dominating the landscape.
Here in Perth, we have an important role to play in halting the expansion of fracking gas and oil fields across our state. We can stand in solidarity with Kimberley Traditional Owners who are standing up and speaking out against these damaging plans.
That’s why we need you on Tuesday 19 Oct out the front of Buru Energy’s office to send a clear message to Origin and Buru.
We’ll provide placards (but feel free to make your own!) and take a group photo that will be shared to inspire and connect with others threatened by Origin’s fracking activities.
Note: we will adhere to covid-safe requirements relevant at the time of the event.
