Whicher Range landholders celebrate cancellation of southern gas exploration permit

 NOVEMBER 14, 2016: Local landholders are celebrating after a gas exploration lease south of the environmentally sensitive Whicher Range, east of Margaret River, was cancelled last week. Mariah de Cerquiera from the Whicher Range Action Group said the decision was a small victory for the local campaign to save the area from being turned into an industrialized gasfield but said the main worry was the gas exploration permit that remained over the area.
