Black Mountain Energy’s plans to frack the Kimberley are progressing through the approvals process, so we need to ramp up the pressure on the Cook government to ban fracking now before the industry gets its claws in.
If the government waves them through, Black Mountain’s fracking plans could amount to thousands of frack wells decimating the precious Kimberley landscape, forever altering and polluting this special place.
That’s why we’re launching a targeted anti-fracking campaign with a free film screening in Tuart Hill on Thursday, 5th of June.
Witness the voices of Traditional Owners from the Kimberley who are calling for protection of the Kimberley and hear about how you can help keep the Kimberley frack free!
In the lead up to the WA State Election back in March, we were able to make fracking a front and centre issue for the Cook government - this local-led campaign covered streets in ban fracking yard signs, surveyed communities and ran huge events including a packed out concert. This forced Fremantle MP Simone McGurk and Premier Roger Cook to acknowledge fracking was a huge issue for voters. What we are doing is working!
Now, we want to build on this momentum in the backyards of other key decision makers - can you join us as we launch our campaign in Tuart Hill to ban fracking in the Kimberley? Reserve your free seat below.
We’re getting active in MP David Michael’s electorate of Balcatta. He’s the Minister for Mines and Petroleum and a powerful member of cabinet who needs to hear from his community.
This event is open to everyone, whether you’re new to the issue or have supported the campaign for a while. So bring a friend or get a group together for a night of inspiration, motivation and community grassroots change.
