Despite widespread community support for a Frack Free Kimberley, Buru Energy is still pushing ahead with plans to industrialise the region with oil & gas developments.
And with Woodside recently announcing they are open to taking gas from the Kimberley for export via their Burrup Hub, the threat from gas companies like Buru just got even more real.
Buru Energy’s upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday May 30 at the Celtic Club in West Perth/Boorloo is the perfect opportunity to remind them that we don’t want the Kimberley turned into a toxic wasteland.
What: Colourful presence outside Buru Energy’s AGM
When: 9:45-10:30 am, Thursday May 30, 2024
Where: Outside Celtic Club, 48 Ord St, West Perth.
Believe it or not, Buru recently received $375,000 of funds from the WA Government to continue their exploration plans in the Kimberley.
With the WA Government backing them to the hilt, it’s vitally important that we step up and take action to let Buru shareholders know that the Kimberley is too precious to frack.
This event will be held in Boorloo on Whadjuk Noongar boodjar, always was, always will be.
