Despite widespread community support for a Frack Free Kimberley, Buru Energy is still pushing ahead with plans to industrialise the region with oil and gas developments. Buru Energy is proposing to develop a major fossil fuel industrial complex 150 km east of Broome and hasn’t ruled out fracking!
That’s why we will gather outside Buru Energy’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 21 May at 8.30am in West Perth to remind them we don’t want industrialisation of the Kimberley!
Show your support for a Frack Free Kimberley outside Buru Energy’s AGM
When: 8.30am-9.15am, Wednesday 21 May, 2025
Where: Outside The Park Business Centre, 45 Ventnor Ave, West Perth WA 6005
Bring: Placards or yellow triangle signs, and wear your Frack Free Kimberley T-shirt!
RSVP here on the Environs Kimberley website, so we know you can make it!
Shareholders will be making decisions about the company’s future fossil fuel plans at the AGM, so they will be sensitive to any community opposition. And the WA Government through Horizon has just announced a plan to convert Broome's energy source to solar and batteries.
We must let Buru Energy and their shareholders know that the Kimberley is no place for oil and gas industrialisation and fracking.
